"Shut up."

How can you test a friend?
Just don't.

Because if you do, it could be painful and you could lose that friend in the process.
Tell that friend a secret and then ask them not to tell X.
Then wait.
Sooner or later, X will bring up that exact subject, maybe even quote the words you said to your friend without realizing.

SO, do not test a friend.
